Legends of cardboard

We've often heard the phrase "legends of cardboard" as it refers to baseball players on baseball cards. To me, the phrase isn't correct as used. A "legend of cardboard" is not a Hall of Famer or All-Star player. Those are "legends of the game/legends of baseball." A "legend of cardboard" should be a player who is not necessarily memorable for what they achieved on the ball field, but what they achieved on cardboard. A true legend of cardboard enjoyed their finest moments on a baseball card. Their baseball cards were noticeably more interesting than those of their cardboard peers. In fact, they may have been completely forgotten by time if not for their baseball cards.

This is my attempt to find those players.

TRUE LEGENDS OF CARDBOARD

Carlos Hernandez. True Legend of Cardboard

Jim Roland. True Legend Of Cardboard

Alex Cole. True Legend Of Cardboard

Kirt Manwaring. True Legend Of Cardboard

Oscar Azocar. True Legend of Cardboard

I don't know if he qualifies under the not an All Star player addendum, but I think more of Benito Santiago's cards than of his play on the field.
I see the Legends of the Cardboard I think of Turk Wendell Brushing his teeth. I don't know much about his career but that card is in my mind.
